There are four major forces at war with Christ for the future of Australia:

  1. Militant Islam
  2. Militant Homosexuality
  3. Militant Atheism
  4. Hedonism.

At the moment, the church is losing. It is fragmented, compromised with pornography, implicated in child sexual abuse, pervasively Luke warm and fearful of the politically correct.

While this does not reflect some of the great things that are happening in the wider church… only Jesus knows the full scale of the collapse of mainstream denominational Christianity in this nation as typified, for example, by decommissioned churches functioning as restaurants and many elderly congregations just hanging on.

Yet over the next three years we have to fight four major battles that cannot be avoided. The following battles will define the future of Australia for decades to come…

  1. (un)Safe Schools in the WA State election where a diabolical confluence of Islam, the Greens and Labor are seeking to defeat our Judeo/Christian based Australian way of life;

  2. A coming battle over Euthanasia in Victoria that will have serious national implications;

  3. (un)Safe Schools, Radical Gender Theory and police-state controls over home-schooling that will be at the front lines of the culture wars in the VIC, SA and QLD state elections in 2018;

  4. War against man-woman marriage and unsustainable national debt that will be fought tooth and nail in the 2019 Federal election (unless it comes earlier).

Remember that if Daniel Andrews is re-elected in Victoria in 2018 he will make (un)Safe Schools compulsory – and remember that Bill Shorten will make Same Sex Marriage compulsory policy in the Labor Party from 2019.

So how do we successfully stand against evil?

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).

While this is true on a personal level, it is also true in how we fight for values and how we vote in elections. We must be a well-informed, praying and influential united federation of Christians who use the gift of our democratic voice and vote to defend our values and our freedoms… otherwise we will lose the nation to the enemy in the culture wars over the next three years.

This is a true reflection of the current reality in which we live. I wish it were not so.

But we can win!

By praying and working together we won the fight against the Religious Exceptions Bill and the iniquitous Birth Certificate Bill in the Victorian Parliament last year. Already this year an outrageous abortion bill has been defeated in the Queensland Parliament. And over the last decade some 20 attempts to implement Same Sex marriage have been defeated in the nation’s parliaments through the prayers and hard work of the true ecclesia of the Kingdom of God.

This message is a word of encouragement to our WA brothers and sisters to choose candidates and parties who stand for the values of the Kingdom of God in their elections this coming weekend.

In the coming elections of Governments and Councils we now have to reject Labor, the Greens and independents whose policies are to:

  • enforce unbiblical sexuality and radical gender theory on our children in our schools
  • implement assisted suicide through proposed euthanasia laws
  • break down God’s way of marriage as between a man and a woman.

Homosexuals are only around 1.5% of the population and they have the equality equivalent of civil unions. Marriage is purposely different. It celebrates the complementarity of men and women to produce children and raise families.

These are bedrock foundations of a civil society based on our identity in Christ. To deny God on these issues is as stupid as former follies such as a tax on windows and a tax on trees.

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Let this be our guiding light in all things – and especially how we fight for values and how we vote in the coming elections.

Family Love beats Culture Wars

Over the last century our family has been through the worst global upheavals of history, including two world wars. On my Father’s side all his family, with the exception of one survivor, were murdered in the ovens at Auschwitz. This was the result of extreme Right Nazi politics.

Post World War 2 our family was split by the extreme Left politics of Stalin, communism and the resulting cold war.

In Ireland, our family survived the “troubles” that split a nation with the politics of violence and anarchy.

And now we see anger and hatred dividing the world in a social revolution of “identity politics”. This has fallen to the level of people saying: ‘if you don’t agree with me I don’t want to know you’. Even splitting families!

Take the riots at Berkeley University where windows have been smashed and fires lit in riots AGAINST freedom of speech. 50 years ago there were riots FOR freedom of speech at the same university. The world has gone crazy.

So what can we learn from history that can help us today?

Through the global upheavals of the last century our family has seen the overcoming triumph of family love. This love has won out over Nazism, Communism, Anti-Semitism, anarchy, murder, violence and global war.

Family love has its source in the love between Father God and his beloved son Jesus. It is the glue that holds the world together and delivers hope for the future.

The Apostle Peter concluded his life with these words: “Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8).

So let us treasure family love as the greatest redeeming force for good in the universe and let it guide us through life as undivided overcomers.

Rapacious Attack on Israel’s Right to Exist this Weekend

This Sunday 15 January 2017, Seventy nations will meet in Paris to try and enforce the establishment of a Palestinian State on Israeli land. Here is a brief summary and a call to action.

Israel is accused of occupying Palestinian land – but is this true?

The title deeds to the land are written in the Bible and were endorsed by the UN in 1948. These deeds are part of an everlasting covenant initiated by God with his chosen people and affirmed over and over again in the Word of God.

You can click on the following links to read in Gen 17:1-8 the first covenant declaration over the land initiated by God with Abraham. This was re-affirmed in Gen 35:9-13 and Exodus 23:31-33. The highest authority of the land rests with God, not the United Nations. It is written in Acts 17:24-28.

Those who do not accept the sovereignty of God and do not understand the permanency of his promises will bring great pain upon themselves and their nations. Please take the most serious attention to the following prophecy in Zech 12:1-3:

“A prophecy: The word of the Lord concerning Israel.
The Lord, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the human spirit within a person, declares: “I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.”

In modern times the so called “Occupied Territories” were never “owned” by the Palestinians. In 1948 the West bank and East Jerusalem passed from a British mandate to Jordon. In 1967 Israel warned Jordon not to attack, but they did and Jordon lost these Territories to Israel in the Six Day War. As a result of the Yom Kippur war Jerusalem was re-unified according to its Biblical covenant.

Now, next weekend on the 15th January 2017 in the Jewish year 5777, seventy nations of the world will meet in Paris to try and take land from Israel again – including the Western Wall and the Garden of Gethsemane. There are some 800,000 Israelis who live in these territories and Israel is not going to give this land up.

Jewish Rabbis define 70 nations as the nations of the world. This comes from the 70 nations listed in Genesis 10. It is also significant that 70 nations were represented in Israel at the funeral of Shimon Peres on 30 September 2016.

Now cast the immediacy of this coming historical event in 2017 with the above prophecy from Zechariah 12.

Recently on the 8th January the Lord impressed upon me that this gathering of nations on Sunday 15 January would be a “RAPACIOUS” attack on Israel’s right to exist. I didn’t know the meaning of the word when it was given to me in the early hours of the morning – which is confirmation that it was from the Lord and not just out of my own head. Please look up the dictionary definition of the word for yourself to gain important insight into the significance of what is happening. While God will take care of Israel according to biblical prophecy, it is the responsibility of the Body of Christ to be awake, vibrantly aware and obedient to God at such a time as this.

Finally we note that in a 2015 poll conducted by the Palestinian Centre for Public Opinion, Arab residents in East Jerusalem would rather live as democratic citizens in Israel than in a Palestinian State under Fatah rules and terrorist organisations like Hamas.

Revolution or Re-Formation?

In 2008, 85 Australian laws were changed to remove discrimination against LGBTIQ people. They were also given civil registers in five states. However, we are now in a revolution where the battle over the understanding of marriage is a tipping point.

This revolution is not good. It’s releasing a spirit of fear, intimidation and false accusations across the nation. What we are experiencing is an outcome of a 20-year homosexual strategy that his five major steps: 1) Request for tolerance, 2) Demand acceptance, 3) Celebrate homosexuality, 4) Force participation, and finally 5) Punish anyone who disagrees.

This is why some 90% of nations have rejected the homosexual revolution. This is why there are marches in the streets of France and Mexico where hundreds of thousands have stood up for true marriage as between a man and a woman. This is why people of faith across our nation are resolving to stand together in agreement with God and Jesus’ definition of marriage as found in Matthew 19:4-5.

Same Sex Marriage is not a simple issue. It is a key part of an overall homosexual agenda that has very serious consequences that include attacking Freedom of speech and Freedom of association – as occurred at the Mercure Hotel in Sydney a week ago. Overseas experience in the UK, Canada, the US and now our own Victoria are providing ample forewarning that we must be fully aware of very serious consequences that come with a fundamental change to the family as the basis of society.

Australian people, not lobbied politicians, should decide on marriage.

We in turn must do all we can to help churches, believers and the general public understand the seriousness of the consequences including: children having a mum and a dad whenever possible, the indoctrination of children with fluid gender ideology, loss of freedoms that we went to war to defend, risks to job security, court appearances, fines and even jail for dissenters from LGBTIQ politically correct agenda. The warnings are before us.

Triumph of identity politics over open debate (The Australian)

Triumph of identity politics over open debate
Excerpt from an article in The Australian by Greg Sheridan
September 15, 2016

The single most depressing aspect of the debate about the proposed same-sex marriage plebiscite is the determination that there not be a debate — more than that, the authoritarian, censorious, profoundly illiberal strain that the very business of debating the issue is somehow insulting if not illegal.

As Malcolm Turnbull observed, some in the opposition seemed to imply that if you didn’t live in a family with two gay parents, you had no right to have a view on the Marriage Act at all. It’s akin to the view that we must change the Constitution purely because Aboriginal leaders want it changed, that the only change must be a change that they want and that the views of non-Aboriginal citizens are less important — though, unfortunately for the advocates of such change, in our democracy all citizens get to vote.

This sudden and utterly toxic triumph of a doctrine of the supremacy of identity politics — your views are legitimate only if you belong to the relevant or approved identity group, and then only if you repeat the orthodox positions — is one of the most dangerous, undemocratic and ill favoured excursions our democracy has ever taken.

Turnbull has sounded the very soul of reason and sense in this debate. Like the Prime Minister, I will vote yes in a plebiscite if we get one. But, like him, I think it utterly offensive and dismayingly depressing that so many advocates think it is improper for the matter to be discussed in public unless to offer ritual support.

These actions are undemocratic and bad in principle, and promise much worse ahead. They are a sign of the degeneration of our political culture into one of bureaucratic command and diminished freedom. This style, which renders many subjects illegitimate for normal political discussion, was pioneered in practice if not in theory by the EU. It produces bad government and ultimately generates a savage, populist backlash.

If the public feels that mainstream political leaders are not allowed to discuss issues they care about, they finally resort to populists who refuse to take direction from the political class.

Typically, the political class then decides even more censorship is necessary and completely needless bitter conflict ensues, wholly because of the anti- democratic impulses of the bureaucratic authoritarians who police the official ideology.

Plainly 18C is desperately bad legislation and ought to be amended, but the trend in identity politics is all the other way. Nothing was more odious this week than to hear the Greens’ Adam Bandt, when speaking of Lyle Shelton of the Australian Christian Lobby, demand of Turnbull that he not empower “bigots like him” to have a voice in the debate.

Bandt is a typical modern face of authoritarian illiberalism. The desperate desire to prevent a popular vote, and the uncharacteristic concern for public money, that it might be spent on the no case as well as the ideologically approved yes case, wore an air of extremism and menace.

Turnbull was right to admonish Bandt that in labelling his opponents bigots he was doing everyone a disservice. I think there is no longer a case for the civil law preventing same-sex couples from marrying. But there is a real danger to religious freedom in the way we are heading and it is here the churches should make their strongest representations. We saw the likely future when the Tasmanian Anti-Discrimination Commissioner entertained a complaint against the Catholic Archbishop of Hobart for publishing the most mildly and politely worded pamphlet imaginable in support of the traditional view of marriage.

The complaint was not laughed out of court, as it should have been, or defeated in a considered process. It was withdrawn in what seems to have been a tactical consideration. In this sort of abuse of democracy, often the process is the punishment. Most people, perhaps even the Archbishop of Hobart, cannot afford the endless legal and administrative and financial costs defending such actions entails.

But that surely is the shape of the future. Christian churches, schools, adoption agencies, publishing houses and the rest will all be subject to complaint and even litigation if they simply teach traditional Christian teaching.

I don’t think the law should enforce traditional Christian teaching but I don’t think it should outlaw it either. All these subjective rules are not good laws but dangerous political fashions, which change. Opponents of abortion believe it kills innocent human beings. A few decades ago the law agreed with this view. Opponents of abortion thus would have found it highly offensive — hate speech indeed — to advocate the acceptance of abortion. But such advocacy was never illegal. Notionally, we were more conservative then. But in critical ways we were more truly liberal.

We are at an evil fork in the road. Thought control, needless, ideological speech control — these are not a decent path ahead.
